Best Multi-Port Chargers for Your Desk
A multi-port charger replaces a tangle of adapters with one device that powers everything on your desk. But the headline wattage is split across ports, so reading the spec carefully matters.
Read the per-port wattage
A charger labeled 100W doesn't deliver 100W to every port. It usually means the total across all ports, with power dropping when multiple devices charge. Check the per-port chart before buying.
What to look for
- At least one high-wattage port (65W) for a laptop
- Two or three USB-C ports plus a USB-A for older devices
- GaN for a compact size despite the power
How to avoid the slow-port trap
Plug your laptop into the highest-wattage port and the rest into the others. If you charge a laptop and phone together, make sure the combined draw doesn't drop the laptop below what it needs.
For most desks, a 100W GaN charger with three USB-C ports is ideal. It powers a laptop at full speed and tops up a phone and earbuds simultaneously without a wall full of adapters.
